The art of fruit and vegetable carving was originally started by the people of Thailand during the 14th century (also known as the Sukhothai period)

Merging their natural affinity for beauty and love for food, the Thai people created extraordinary carvings out of ordinary fruits and vegetables.

This ancient tradition has been passed down by generations for thousands of years, today being considered a true mark of culinary excellence in Thailand. The people of Thailand migrated from valley settlements in the mountainous regions of southwest China between the sixth and thirteenth centuries.

Thailand was a crossing point between eastern and western sea ports, causing the infusion of culture which gives “Thai” food it’s unique and unmistakable taste.

Rich in history and tradition, Thailand has become a cultural center for people from all over the world, offering a diverse range of contrasting flavors.
